Assalamualaikum... Hi welcome to my blog, my name is Ramadhenthy Ahlan. Let's study about Morphology. What is that Morphology? Morphology is the scientific study of the structure of words. For example : dog, chair, etc. Morpheme is a meaningful linguistic unit consisting of a word, that cannot be devided into smaller meaningful parts. Therefore, a morpheme is the smallest or minimum unit of meaning. Morpheme also have variants and these variants are called Allomorps , we say that the plural in English is denoted by the symbol (s). - Free morpheme (which can occur us separate words) - Bound morpheme (which cannot stand alone as words) Example : Chairs - Chair => Free morpheme - s => Bound morpheme Simple word & Complex word Simple word is consist of one morpheme, then complex word is consist of more than one morpheme.
